Magpul handguards are an excellent upgrade for your vz. 58 to improve handling and heat dispersion. Unfortunately, Magpul handguards do not come close to fitting the vz. 58 design.
At Samopal, we modify three different Magpul handguard models to fit the vz. 58 rifle and vz. 58 carbine/pistol (does not function with the vz. 58 Compact). Modifications to Magpul handguards are extensive and completed using precise milling machine operations.
All three Magpul handguards require ZERO modification to the barreled action. In other words, the lower handguard retainer and sling swivel eyelet on the gas block remain unmodified and you can always replace the Magpul lower handguard with the original vz. 58 handguard.
Zhukov and Zhukov-U handguards do require two milling machine cuts in the upper polymer handguard as seen in the photos below (upper handguard metal jacket remains unmodified).

Stainless steel heat shield provides excellent heat dispersion even after four 30 round magazines fired in full auto.
